About Gail

Originally from Braintree, Massachusetts, I lived in the same house on Robinson Avenue until I left for the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1977. I proudly graduated with the Class of 1981 from West Point—Strength as One!—and three days later, married Steve, a West Point ’80 grad. After serving five years in the Army, I turned in my active duty ID card, opting for a part-time career as an Army Reservist and a full-time career as an Army spouse and mother. Over the next three decades, Steve and I raised four amazing kids and moved a zillion times. (Seriously. A zillion.) I volunteered, taught some, coached some, and always wrote. I've written manuals and proposals; I've penned a humor column for a local magazine. I published a memoir detailing my experiences in the second class of women at West Point. Now, in the fourth quarter, I'm taking the annual Christmas card letter to a new level. I’m writing fiction—when I’m not baking brownies, walking the beach, or visiting kids and grandkids.
